Key Performance Highlights of SECL in 2016-17

South Eastern Coalfields Limited, the largest coal producing subsidiary of CIL, accounts for about 25 % of total production of CIL in 16-17. SECL has delivered an excellent all round performance during the year 2016-17 and set an all-time record in production, quality improvements and optimization of overall consumer's satisfaction in terms of meeting their coal requirement.

SECL with Coal production of 140.003 million tons during 2016-17, against the AAP target of  149.67 million tones &MoU Excellent target of 152.06 million tones and has registered a growth of 1.50 % over the last year.

During FY 2016-17, total production from UG and Opencast is 14.548 MT and 125.455 MT respectively.

In productivity, in terms of output per man shift (OMS), SECL in 2016-17, has achieved 9.29 Te against AAP target of 9.49 Te while it was 8.46 Te in 2015-16 thus registering 9.81 % growth over last year.

Overburden removal during 16-17 was 178.791 M.Cu.Mtrs. against_175.367 M.Cu.Mtrs in 2015-16 thus registering a growth of 1.95 % over previous year.

The coal off-take during 16-17 was 137.672 MT against the target of 149.67MT thus achieving 91.98 % of target and registering a growth of (-)0.78% over the last year.
